The Fintech House ranked among Europe’s leading start-up hubs by the Financial Times

The Fintech House has been recognised in the Financial Times’ “Europe’s Leading Start-Up Hubs 2026”, ranking 35th in Europe and standing out as the highest-placed fintech-focused hub in Portugal.

Now in its third edition, the ranking was produced by the Financial Times together with the research company Statista and Sifted, the FT-backed outlet covering European technology. It assessed 180 hubs across 25 European countries that run incubation and acceleration programmes, with the evaluation based mainly on feedback from alumni who had taken part in those programmes. Participants rated their hubs on mentoring and training, infrastructure, legal support, networking and access to funding, while the recommendations of external experts and the performance of the startups that emerged from each hub were also taken into account.

Portugal was strongly represented, with 12 hubs featured in the list and seven of them based in Lisbon. Among the Portuguese hubs, the Fintech House was the highest-ranked dedicated fintech hub, a recognition that reflects the strength and international ambition of the country’s financial-technology ecosystem.

For the Fintech House, the result is independent validation of its role as an incubator and accelerator for fintech, insurtech and regtech startups. The hub is home to a community of more than 110 startups in Lisbon and runs the SPRINT acceleration programme, connecting founders with mentors, corporate partners and investors as they prepare to scale.
